At Varia, we love trying new things. Check out our gallery below to see some of our past projects.
Engraved river stone for an employee raffle
Stainless steel pot lid converted into a sieve screen.
These NES cartridges were reproduced in CAD in multiple layers. They are 1:1 scale and include cutouts of the front cover and a scene from the game on the back.

Multi-color painted canvas. This is an ordinary ceramic tile spray painted with a few colored layers, then a layer of black on the top. The black layer gets etched away with a laser and the colors peek through for this amazing effect.
Another painted canvas, this time on a 9"x9" sheet of plywood
Painted canvas, single color on tile.

Display of video game sword bottle openers. These were laser cut from 10ga stainless steel, powder coated, then etched to get the full design of the blades. And they work too!
Closeup of one of the bottle openers. This one was dubbed "The Bottle Buster"
Varia was asked if we could do an axe restoration. We replaced the handle, ablated the rust away with a laser, reapplied a powder coat with the help of one of our partners, and resharpened the edge. This is the axe head going through rust removal in the Xtool galvo laser.

Fully restored axe ready for the customer!
While doing some testing, one of our nieces was doing some drawings. We decided to try putting on a water bottle. Signature and everything!
Annual "Turkey Bowl" trophy for a Thanksgiving tradition. Fully 3D printed and painted in silver to match the Lombardi trophy.
A concept we call "parallax glass". Two images are etched opposite eachother on clear glass. The composite image comes together when the glass is rotated to a certain spot.
Another parallax glass.
High detail engraving on stainless steel plates.

3D printed Lithophane with custom designed mount with light. These make great place-anywhere nightlights and shelf decorations.
Varia can turn just about any image into a lithophane in a number of forms. This one is of a customer's pet on a christmas ornament. Place the lithophane in front of a light and the image shines through.
Metal gasket made from 10ga stainless steel. We made 15 of these for a customer over a weekend.
The leftover metal from some jobs gets used for art pieces like this one. This is the same 10ga stainless steel from the metal gasket.
3D printed hub cap cover. 4 of these were printed in PETG, which has great durability in high UV and wet conditions. They're still holding fast and looking good on the customers car 2 years after installation.
A customer provided some basic parameters for these brackets and Varia completed the design and cut a small batch of them from 1/16" aluminum then bent them with a hand press.
Although not our specialty, Varia has printed some models and miniatures. This Xenomorph stands over 9" tall. It was printed, assembled, and painted of the course of 2 weeks between other jobs.
